Opening pd file in Mac Finder hangs Purr-Data
To reproduce this, you first have to configure the Finder so that it launches Purr-Data when double-clicking on .pd- files: Select a patch, do cmd-I, then choose Pd-l2ork-full-... as the application to launch under "Open with", and also make sure that you activate the "Change all" option there so that all .pd files will be associated with Purr-Data in the future. (There is a slight issue there, that Purr-Data is not currently recognized as an application "recommended" to open .pd files, but that can easily be worked around by choosing "All applications" in the selection dialog.)
Once that is set up, try double-clicking on any .pd file. At least on my system (2013 MB Pro with i5, 8 gigs of RAM, running OSX 10.10), Purr-Data will launch, show the main window and print its welcome message, but then it hangs there.
If I launch Purr-Data first, wait until it's completed its startup, and then double-click a .pd file in Finder, the patch opens without any hitches.
Looks like this is a race causing the "open" handler to be called too early? Can you reproduce this? And most importantly, do you have an idea how to fix it?
